The early sounds of the upcoming holiday season – staple guns, hammers, saws, and electric drills – can be heard in locations throughout the parish as preparations hit full stride for the Annual Winnsboro-Franklin Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade.

The event is scheduled for Friday night, Dec. 3, on the streets of downtown Winnsboro, and will culminate a week-long series of yuletide events in Winnsboro celebrating the Christmas season. Anyone who has ever built a float knows the work involved, but it's certainly worth it in the end," said Chamber parade committee co-chair Paul Price, Jr.

"We have around 15 floats from groups across the parish entered in this year's parade, and that will make for a great event. We're still taking other late entries as well and expect to have as big a parade as we've ever had, if not bigger," Price added.
