|WHS Class of 1944 honors former principal|
Loving memories of the principal who guided them through what The Franklin Sun once called "the golden period of public education" prompted the tribute now in place in the Old Post Office Museum in Winnsboro.
Members of the Winnsboro High School Class of 1944 from California, Colorado, Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana, gladly and generously donated the funds for the memorial, a glassed-in display case marked by a brass plaque giving the dates of Mr. Glover's service as principal of Winnsboro High School and Superintendent of Franklin Parish Schools.
Called a model educator in The Sun editorial written following his death at age 90, "Professor" Glover was principal here from 1931 to 1947, and parish superintendent from 1948 to 1958. He was principal at Crowville High before coming to Winnsboro.
