Patriots to battle Bearcats Friday

The Franklin Parish Patriots (6-3, 1-3 in district 3-4A) close out the regular season this Friday night at the Ruston Bearcats (5-4, 3-1).

The Patriots are coming off of a 40-21 victory over the West Ouachita Chiefs (1-8, 0-4). The Patriots pulled away in the second quarter with three unanswered touchdowns. Ken Hoard had two rushing touchdowns and Antonio Hillman added another in the frame. Hoard finished with 57 yards and three touchdowns in the game.

"We did what we had to do mentally to bounce back from the loss last week," FPHS head coach Barry Sebren said. "We dominated the second quarter. We ran the ball well."

The Patriots also leaned on the strong performance of full back Noble Johnson for a big boost. Johnson had another stand out game for the Patriots as he finished with 176 yards and two touchdowns to lead all rushers.
