Life Church to host 'Orphan Sunday'

'Hope for Life' (HFL) is a new orphan care ministry of Life Church in Winnsboro. It was established by a group of adoptive families at Life Church who are following the mandate to care for orphans in James 1:27.

The HFL ministry was introduced to the Life Church family on Oct. 10. On this date, each family was given a HFL bucket to take home. These buckets are being filled with spare change and will be brought back to church on Orphan Sunday, Nov. 7, as an offering to the HFL ministry.

Orphan Sunday is a nationwide event celebrated by churches in order to raise awareness of the plight of orphans and to promote adoption by Christian families. On this day, Pat Lee, director of Children of the World adoption agency in Fairhope, Ala., will be the guest speaker. All adoptive families in the area are encouraged to attend.
