posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The year 2010 year is a milestone for Franklin Academy. Founded in 1970, the Cougar family will mark the 40th anniversary of the school with a weekend-long celebration. Alumni, former and current students, faculty members, and board of directors are invited homecoming weekend, Oct. 29-30, to join the Cougar pride in a host of actvities.

The homecoming festivities will begin with an Alumni 'Meet and Greet' at 5:30 p.m. for all Cougars and Cougar fans to get to know or reacquaint themselves with schoolmates from their pasts. The Cougars will face-off against Christian Collegiate at 7 p.m. The half-time show will feature the presentation of the 2010-2011 Homecoming Queen and her court and the recognition of alumni members.

A traditional "Cougar Day" is planned from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the school. Hamburger plates will be sold throughout the day for $6 each, dine-in or take-out; a frozen casserole auction and a cupcake contest are also scheduled. Other attractions at this year's Cougar Day include balloon jumpers and childcare services from Beta Club members.
