Patriots eye the Tigers

The Franklin Parish Patriots (5-2, 0-2 in district 3-4A) will be looking to earn their first district victory of the season this week when they travel to Monroe to take on the Neville Tigers (2-5, 1-1) at Bill Ruple Stadium.

The Patriots suffered their second consecutive loss last week in a 19-6 loss to the Wossman Wildcats.

Wossman lead just 7-0 at halftime as both teams played solid defense throughout the first two quarters.

The Patriots appeared to score a touchdown just before half but were denied on three straight running plays near the goal-line.

"I thought we got in on second and third down," FPHS head coach Barry Sebren said. "On fourth down it was a bad call by me, I will take the blame for that."
