Early voting set next week
Voters don't have to wait until Nov. 2 to cast their ballots in the general and congressional election.
Early voting will start Tuesday, Oct. 19 and will run through Tuesday, Oct. 26.
Those wanting to vote early can do so at the Franklin Parish Courthouse next week from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., excluding Sunday, Oct. 24.
Locally, Jean Simmons Clark, a Republican, is running against Democrat Harvey Guimbellot for mayor of Baskin.
Clark got 49 percent of the vote in the Oct. 2 primary election and Guimbellot received 39 percent in a three-way race.
