The Franklin Parish Patriots (5-1, 0-1 district 3-4A) will be aiming to bounce back into the win column this Friday when they travel to Monroe to battle the Wossman Wildcats (4-2, 1-0). The Patriots saw their five-game win streak broken by the Bastrop Rams (6-0, 1-0) last Friday by a count of 42-8. Bastrop came out with some innovative maneuvers on the first play from scrimmage when they lined five wide receivers up to one side of the field. The resulting 40-yard pass play set up the first Bastrop touchdown for a 8-0 advantage.

Franklin Parish head coach Barry Sebren said after the game, that the play should have never been allowed to stand.

"They substituted five guys after breaking the huddle," Sebren said. "They ran guys off the sideline and then ran the play. It was an illegal formation."

Bastrop quarterback Darren Anderson completed a 38-yard touchdown pass to Jevante Watson on a fourth-down play later in the drive to put the Rams on the scoreboard.
