Gators host Warriors Saturday afternoon
The Delhi Charter Gators (3-3, 0-1 district 2-1A) will be back in action this Saturday at 3 p.m. when they host the St. Frederick Warriors (2-4, 0-1) in a rare Saturday afternoon contest in "The Swamp."
"Coach (Paul) Guerriero and I got together and decided to play this thing on Saturday," DCS head coach Bret Raley said. "He said they played OCS on Saturday last year because of rain and he really liked it because of the college gameday-type atmosphere."
Parent-Teacher conference day at Delhi Charter School is also scheduled for this Friday meaning the players would not be in school and Raley said that was another factor in the decision to move the game.
The Saturday start will also give the Gators and Warriors an extra day to prepare for the game.
