Saturday's elections produced decisive victories for incumbents in local elections and forced top candidates vying for mayor of Baskin into a Nov. 2 run-off.

Winnsboro City Judge Ann McIntyre bested her rival C. Arnold Lain with 69 percent of the vote. Winnsboro City Marshall Bruce McCarthy will also remain in his post after scoring 54 percent of the vote over George Wilhite's 28 percent and Gregory "Bubba" Brown's 19 percent.

Joe Lewis Jr., who walked away with 53 percent of ballots cast, will remain on the Franklin Parish Police Jury. Lewis, who was chosen by other jurors to replace Jackie Johnson after Johnson was elected mayor of Winnsboro, bested Charles Brass, who got 25 percent of the vote, and Leodis Norman, who got 23 percent of the vote, for the District 7 police jury seat.
