Parish recognizes top educators, students

It was an evening of honor for several parish teachers and students at the regular meeting of the Franklin Parish School Board. Representing their schools as elementary teachers of the year are Debbie Jackson and George Arender of Baskin School; Kathy Ellerbe of Fort School and Justin Colvin of Crowville, are the middle school teachers of the year and Leslie Hunt and Sandy Rigdon, are the high school teachers of the year at Gilbert School.

Among the nominations, three educators were chosen to represent the parish as the elementary, middle and high school teachers of the year in the regional competition.

Casey Wiggins King is the elementary teacher of the year for Franklin Parish; Delasber Griffing is the middle school teacher of the year for Franklin Parish and Elaine Netherland is the high school teacher of the year for Franklin Parish.
