Gators battle Eagles Friday
The Delhi Charter Gators (3-2) will begin district play on the road this Friday as they travel to Monroe to battle the Ouachita Christian School Eagles (2-3). The game will mark the second ever meeting between the schools with
OCS winning in Delhi last year, 14-7.
The Gators are coming off a 54-6 win over Tensas Parish last week.
Delhi Charter had their way from the start as they rolled out to a 28-0 first quarter lead. The starters for the Gators played just nine snaps on offense before giving way to back-up players for the final three and a half quarters of play.
"It kind of gives you a break from battle for our starters," DCS head coach Brett Raley said. "Overall I thought we had good effort. I thought our defense played well."
Indeed, the Gator defense was solid from top to bottom as they held Tensas to minus-1 yards of total offense on the night.
