Jindal delivers grant funding
Gov. Bobby Jindal awarded five Local Government Assistance Program (LGAP) grants totaling $151,831 to local municpalities for infrastructure improvements during a visit to Franklin Parish last week.
"These competitive grants are critical to ensure our citizens in rural communities are provided with the ability to upgrade infrastructure and help improve their quality of life," Jindal said, as he presented the money to local officials during a ceremony in Wisner.
Franklin Parish Police Jury received $48,614 in grants that will be used to purchase a public works vehicle and a miniature excavator.
