FA falls to Briarfield in district opener

Franklin Academy fell to Briarfield 62-42 in their district opener Friday in Winnsboro.

The Rebel offense was able to score on their first play from scrimmage with a 65-yard run by Fuad Ahmed. With the Rebel defense forcing Franklin to punt on their first two possessions, the Rebels were able to build an early 22–0 lead.

Briarfield scored on eight of its 11 possessions.

"We just weren't able to stop them," said Franklin coach Doyle Hassell. "They scored three times on us and then we went tit for tat."
