|Jurors vote to end lake drawdown|
After a four month drawdown of Turkey Creek Lake to eradicate a giant salvinia infestation, the dam will be closed to facilitate returning water levels to normal.
The Franklin Parish Police Jury approved the motion to seal the lake's dam during Thursday night's regular meeting.
At a recent meeting between the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and members of the police jury, it was decided that the drawdown would stop after work on the lake's embankment, an expedition of a pipe in the drawdown structure and an inspection of the lake's dam were finished.
