The Lady Cougars of Franklin Academy improved their record to 13 wins against 4 losses winning four games this past week.

Franklin started the week with a 5-0 win over Riverdale Academy of Coushatta. Autumn Acres pitched a 2 hit shut out to pick up the win. Six Lady Cougars had hits with Kaitlyn Evans knocking in three runs with a triple.

The Lady Cougars traveled to Greenville, Miss., for a tournament Saturday where they rolled to three wins against no losses. The day began with a 8 to 2 win over Clarksdale-Lee Academy. Sarah Haring and Autumn Acres combined for a one hitter. Lindy Carroll and Arial Gill led the offense with two hits each. Carroll cleared the bases in the fourth inning with a triple to score three runs.

Franklin's second win again featured the pitching of Autumn Acree and Sarah Haring who tossed a two hit shut out for the win. The Lady Cougars had only four hits but made the most of them scoring all four runs in the fifth inning to clinch the 4-0 win. Sarah Roberts led the way with three RBI's.

In the last game of the day, Franklin coasted to an easy 9-0 win over Delta Academy.

Chelsea Thomas and Arial Gill each had three hits to pace the offense which pounded out 12 hits. Autumn Acree, Sarah Haring, and Kassie Shipley combined for the shutout win.
