Max Parker of Jena announces the engagement and upcoming marriage of his daughter, Rita Delaine Parker, to James Malcolm Ward of Newellton.

Maternal grandparents of the bride-elect are the late G.C. and Elaine Stapleton of Jena. She is the paternal granddaughter of the late Sidney Parker and the late Bob and Rita Stelle of Jena.

Rita is a 2002 graduate of Jena High School and the University of Louisiana-Monroe where she earned her bachelor of science degree in business administration. She is also a 2008 graduate of Cloyd's Beauty School in Monroe and is currently employed as a hair stylist.

The prospective groom is the maternal grandson of Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Egloff of Newellton. He is the paternal grandson of Lannie Ward of Crowville and the late James Neal Ward

His is a 2000 graduate of Newellton High School and the University of Louisiana-Monroe where he received his bachelor of science degree in business management. While on campus, James was a member of Pi Sigma Epsilon fraternity. He is currently employed as an HSE Advisor for TransOcean.

The wedding is set for six o'clock in the evening on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Monmouth Plantation. Charlie Anderson will officiate the ceremony.
