Louise Martin Cooke
Mrs. Louise Martin Cooke, 75, a resident of Gilbert, formerly of Bossier City, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, at her residence.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time, under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home, Winnsboro.

Lois Cunningham
Services for Lois Cunningham, 73, of Winnsboro were held Sunday, August 15, 2010 at the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Perry officiating. Burial followed at Coax Cemetery near Baskin.
Mrs. Cunningham was born July 7, 1931 at Delhi, and died Friday, August 13, 2010 at her residence. She was a resident of Winnsboro, retired manager of Fred's Super Dollar Store Winnsboro and a member of Coax Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ben Cunningham; parents Jessie and Earlina Hudgins Carroll; also two sisters, two brothers, and a son-in-law.
Survivors include her children: Judy Kelly of Columbia, Elois Whitehead and husband David, Elizabeth Temple and husband Roger, "Little Ben" Cunningham and wife Tammy, all of Winnsboro; sisters: Mary Fife and husband Luther of Junction City, Ark., Bess Norman and husband Doug of Bastrop, Bonnie Wynn and husband Don of Rayville; brothers: Walter Carroll and wife Doris of Rayville, Henry Lee Carroll and wife Dianne of Cummings, Ga.; sisters-in-law: Lois Carroll of Bastrop and Mildred Carroll of Rayville; also survived by 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Jayden Paul Martin
Funeral services for Jayden Paul Martin, 3, were held Sunday, August 15, 2010 at the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Howington officiating. Burial followed at Providence Memorial Park Cemetery.
On Wednesday, August 10, 2010 the angels came and brought Our Angel home at this residence in Georgetown, Texas. He was born on October 23, 2006.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Mike McCormick.
Survivors include his devoted mother Heather McCormick; sister Madison Martin; great-grandmother Christine Crum; grandparents Nana Kelinda Rolen-Moody and Papa Jerry Wayne Wolf; great uncles and aunts Keith and Tiny Rolen, Delia and Luke Stowe; father Kevin Martine; Mimi Tina Cupstid; Papaw Brian Martin; great-grandparents Paul and Delores Adams; uncles Chris McCormick and Brandon Cupstid; aunt Britainny Cupstid; also survived by a host of other uncles, aunts, cousins, family and friends.

Rosa Jackson Mahoney
Services for Rosa Jackson Mahoney, age 77, of Gilbert, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010 at Turkey Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Goodman and Rev. Don Blackmon officiating. Burial followed in Oakley Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
Mrs. Mahoney was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church and a loving mother of nine children. She was preceded in death by her parents: J.A. and Mae Jackson; husband: W.T. Mahoney: grandson: Cody LaShea Mahoney; and sister: Dora McMurray.
Survivors include children: Thomas Mahoney and wife Lisa of Gilbert; Dorothy Mahoney of Gilbert; James Mahoney and wife Sharon of Wisner; Calvin Mahoney Sr. and wife JoAnn of Manteca, Calif.; Martha Mahoney and Richard Burch of Pensacola, Fla.; Roger Mahoney Sr. and wife Shirley of Gilbert; Tammy and Keith Neilsen of Crowville; Marjorie Ezell and husband Larry of Gilbert; Rachel Mahoney and David Southern of Winnsboro; one sister: Lula Derrick of Winnsboro; 27 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were nephews: David Mahoney, Wayne Mahoney, Eddie Mahoney, Paul Mahoney, Larry Mahoney, and Ray Moore.
Honorary pallbearers were grandsons: Josh Ezell, Dustin Ezell, Roger Mahoney Jr., Dylan Rials, Logan Burch, Richard Burch, Joey Mahoney, Michael Mahoney, Jack Nielsen, William Nielsen, Jared Walker, Shane Parks, Ryan Kinison, Jordan Strickland, Calvin Linder and Phillip Linder.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2010 at Turkey Creek Baptist Church near Gilbert.

Akiyah Brown Maine
Funeral services for Akiyah Brown Maine, 16, of Irving, Texas, were held Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010 at Winnsboro Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Herman Harris officiating. Burial followed at Cuba Cemetery under the direction of Richardson Funeral Home, Winnsboro.
Ms. Maine died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010 at Methodist Medical Hospital in Dallas, Texas, following a brief illness.
Survivors include her parents Carla Maine Rollins and step father, Jack Rollins Jr.; father, Marcus Armstrong; sister, Xaivera Rollins; brothers: Jack Rollins III and Julius Rollins; maternal grandparents are Bobby and Rosie Maine; great-grandmother Pearl Moore; paternal siblings: Elzy Hoard, Precious Davis, Jamica Chisley and Da'Colby Brook.
Pallbearers were Derrick Grant, Fredrick Grant, Elzy Hoard, Roderick Flemmons, Kenny Thompson and Christopher Moore.

Beverly Lachney Smith
Funeral services for Beverly Lachney Smith, 61, of Winnsboro, will be held at Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Jerry Burns and Rev. Virgil Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Oakley Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
Mrs. Smith was born February 9, 1949 in Gilbert, and passed away Sunday August 15, 2010 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe. She was a resident of Winnsboro, a Private Investigator, and a member of the Pentecostal faith. She wrote poems for the Louisiana Legions Magazine. Beverly was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was kind, caring, hardworking person who always put others before herself.
She was preceded in death by her father, Elzy Lachney; mother, Bernice (Aymond) Lachney.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald B. Smith of Winnsboro; son, Wyatt Smith of Winnsboro; four daughters: Joan Brown and husband Kevin of Winnsboro; Heather Smith and husband Jason of Winnsboro; Victoria Smith of Winnsboro; Kimberly Thompson and husband Keith of Baskin; two sisters: Hilda Sanderson of Calhoun, Betty McMurry of Eldorado, Ark.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild;
and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
