Story Archives: Winnsboro Men's League begins season

Winnsboro Men's League begins season
by Joey Martin - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The Winnsboro Men's Baseball League began its fourth season Saturday at the Franklin Parish High School Baseball Field.

The league has six teams this season, the most since starting out with four in 2007.

"Me, Chris Ward and Richard Kelly were sitting around and talked about getting a league together after coaching our kids, said Joe Campbell. "We thought it would be fun to do again.
I don't have anything against softball, I just wanted to play baseball again.

The teams play Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Each team has a 15-game season.
Players must be at least 21 years old and cannot be competing on a college team or be on a baseball roster. Players can play on a softball team.
