One killed in early morning crash A Winnsboro man was killed early Sunday morning after being thrown from the bed of the truck in an one vehicle accident, according to Louisiana State Police reports.
Joey Anding, 20, died after being ejected from the back of a 1998 GMC truck being driven by 29-year-old James Valentine from Winnsboro after the vehicle left Norwood Road in Franklin Parish and hit a tree.
State police report two other Winnsboro men riding in the back of the truck; Charlie Smith, 20, and Thomas Hurles, 18, received minor injuries in the crash and were taken to Franklin Medical Center for treatment.
Troopers responded to the crash about 3:50 a.m. Sunday.
State police report that the truck was traveling west on the roadway when Valentine lost control of the vehicle in a curve.
The truck reportedly ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree before coming to rest.
Valentine received minor injuries in the crash and was cited for careless operation.
Greg Hill Jr, 18, of Winnsboro, was riding in the cab of the truck and also received minor injuries in the crash, according to state police.
Alcohol use is not suspected to be a factor in the crash. |
