Patsy M. Ballance
Funeral services for Mrs. Patsy M. Ballance, 82, of Winnsboro were held Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Saint Mary Catholic Church with Revs. Dwight DeJesus and Angelo Messina officiating. Burial followed at Providence Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home Winnsboro.
Mrs. Ballance was born on August 20, 1927 in Waterproof and died on July 5, 2010 at her residence.
Diagnosed with Type I Diabetes when she was a sixth grader, Mrs. Ballance managed a full life as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her professional life included service as a secretary for the Franklin Parish School Board under Superintendent W. B. Glover. She later was part owner of The Clothes Garden here; early working experience was with her father's firm, Massony Cotton Company.
As a devout Catholic, Mrs. Ballance was a lifelong and faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Winnsboro, as well as a charter member of Catholic Daughters of America. Her active role in her church, which continued as long as health permitted, included service as a Eucharist Minister, teaching both cathechism and Bible School classes, and work in frequent fundraisers.
Mrs. Ballance, a 1944 graduate of Winnsboro High School, became treasurer of the local Class of '44 "committee" in her later years. She soon earned the title of "the spirit" of this active group of longtime, caring friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Frank Angelo Massony Sr. and Rose Mary Forte Massony; and her husband John W. "Johnnie" Ballance.
Survivors include her son John Gerald Ballance and wife Joy of Baton Rouge; daughters Jeanine Patton and husband Edward of Monroe; Stephanie Paola and husband Jerry of Winnsboro; brother Frank A. Massony, Jr. of Monroe; grandchildren John Angelo Ballance, Charlie Patton and wife Audrey, Sarah Paola.
Pallbearers were Butch Alpe, Joe Frank Alpe, John Ballance, David Coco, Sha Etheridge, J. Funderburk, Peter Massony and Doug Moore.
Honorary pallbearers were Class of 44, Rock Alpe, Greg Baccarini, James Ballance, Dr. Tom Colvin, and Reed Griffin.

Johnny H. Brown Jr.
Funeral services for Johnny H. Brown Jr., 76, of Wisner were held Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Newlight Baptist Church, Wisner. Burial followed at Oakley Cemetery under the direction of Richardson Funeral Home, Winnsboro.
Mr. Brown died Friday, July 2, 2010, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.
Survivors include sons: Roy Brown, Christopher Richard, Johnny L. Richard, Otis McGinnis, and Patrick Richard; daughters: Dywan Brown, Beverly Blanson, Rhonda Dickerson, Audrey Brown, Shonda McWilliams, Veronica Major, Dannell Richard. brother, McClenden Brown; sisters: Rosa Bernal and Aristine Bell; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
Pallbearers were David Blanson, Clifton Brown, Derrick Kenny, Johnny Richard, Patrick Richard, Ryan Richard and Edward Tolliver.

Robert Lee Jackson Sr.
Funeral services for Robert Lee Jackson Sr., 54, of Winnsboro were held Sunday, July 11, 2010, at Winnsboro Second Baptist Church. Burial followed at Morning Star Cemetery under the direction of Richardson Funeral Home, Winnsboro.
Mr. Jackson died Friday, July 2, 2010, at Glenwood Medical Center in West Monroe.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Jackson, Winnsboro; sons: Chad Plater, Patrick Jackson, Artrea Plater, Michael Plater, and Robert Lee Jackson Jr.; daughters: Robin Jackson, Chiquita Jackson and Jessica Jackson, all of Winnsboro; brothers: James R. Jackson and King Pleasant, both of Winnsboro; sisters: Willie M. Simmons, Georgia A. Williams, Jacqueline D. Sarpony, Wanda F. McMahon and Ulonda F. White, all of Winnsboro; eight grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.
Pallbearers were Don Higgins, Clevon Higgins, Craig Higgins, James Ray Jackson, Clifton Modique and Aury White.

Tammy K. Jones
Funeral services for Tammy K. Jones, 45, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., were held at Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, July 10, 2010, with Rev. Ron Ferrington officiating. Interment followed at Epps Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
Ms. Jones was born February 15, 1965 in Shreveport, and passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center in Fort Walton Beach. She was a resident of Fort Walton Beach, formerly of Winnsboro, a merchandizer for Frito Lay Co, and a member of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by mother, Patricia (Box) McMillan; grandmother, Odessa Box, grandfather, A.H. Buddy Box; uncles: Gary Box and Hershal Bubba Box.
Survivors include her father, David Jones of Houston, Texas; son, Brett Hutto of Winnsboro; daughter, Michelle Higginbotham of Monroe; four brothers: Jack Hearon and wife Sarah of West Ministry, Colo.; Ronald Hearon of Alamosa, Colo.; Kevin Box and wife Sherry of Winnsboro; Andrew McMillan of Cuero, Texas; eight sisters: Lynn Goodwin and husband Michael of West Monroe; Jacklynn West and husband John of DeRidder; Cherie Jones of Foley, Ala.; Shirley Cedars of DeRidder; Kristie Self and husband Bubba of DeRidder; Misty Strebeck of Robeline; Michell Box Gwin and husband Kraig of Winnsboro; Melanie Box Day and husband Johnny of Baskin; step father, Al McMillan of Robeline; two grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers were Eugene Parker, Logan Box, Troy Freeman, Johnny Day, Kevin Box, and Paul Hodge.
Honorary pallbearer was Joshua Box.

Daisy Stinson Martin
Mrs. Daisy Stinson Martin, 73, a resident of Bastrop, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home, Winnsboro.

Annie Mae McDaniel
Funeral services for Annie Mae McDaniel, 63, of Winnsboro were held Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Truelight Baptist Church in Winnsboro. Burial followed at Morning Star Cemetery in Fort Necessity, under the direction of Richardson Funeral Home, Winnsboro.
Mrs. McDaniel died Thursday, July 1, 2010.
Survivors include sons: Mark McDaniel and Jeff McDaniel, both of Winnsboro; brothers: Evon Moffitt and Dan Moffitt, both of Winnsboro; Felton Moffitt, Mesquite, Texas; sisters: Lucille Berry and Bessie Carter, both of Winnsboro; Flora M. Stribling and Edna Moffitt, both of Monroe; and one grandchild.
Pallbearers were John Moffitt, Kirk Moffitt, Brady Stribling III, Torell Cheffin, Terrance Moffitt, Dedric Ausberry, Darren Cotton and Dauarious Higgins.

George E. Noble
Memorial service for George E. Noble, will be held at 10:30 a.m, Saturday, July 17, 2010 with the Revs. Howard Childs and Enuch Davis officiating. Inurnment will follow at Providence Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home.
Mr. Noble was born on January 29, 1931 in Mangham, La. and died on Thursday July 8, 2010 at Plantation Manor Nursing Center Winnsboro.
He was a retired farmer, attended the Methodist Church and served with the U. S Air Force.
He is preceded in death by his parents George W. Noble Sr. and Rose Robertson Noble; brothers: W. O., Woodie and Wilburn "Bill" Noble; sisters: Ruby Mercer, Bessie Westeburg, Lucille Acklin and Clair Mae Boden.
Survivors include his wife Mildred A. Noble; children: Charles McMurray and wife Alice, Chris Donnell and husband Tommy, Sharon Ferrington, all of Gilbert; sister Jean Warren of Kenner; also survived by five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and a nost of neices and nephews.
Friends may call for visitation on Saturday, July 17, 2010 after 9:30 until time of service.

Arrie Lee Schooler
Funeral services for Mrs. Arrie Lee Schooler, 88, of Winnsboro, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Temple Baptist Church with Dr. Alan Miller and Rev. Jason Foster officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Grove Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home Winnsboro.
Mrs. Schooler died Sunday, July 11, 2010 at ther residence. She was born on October 10, 1929 in Wisner, to the late Tom Abner Kerrigan and Colea Spinks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her spouse of 52 years, Harold Hoff Schooler.
Granny was truly devoted to her family and friends and never missed an opportunity to have a good time. She spent a greater part of her life devoted to be a loving wife and her whole life devoted to her four sons. In her later years she found much joy becoming a grandmother and great-grandmother.
Lee Schooler was a devoted Christian and a member of Temple Baptist Church in Winnsboro. She graduated from Wisner High School and Louisiana Tech. She was a teacher at Central High School and Vidalia High School where she was the girl's first basketball coach. After teaching for seven years she worked for the state department where she retired as Director of Social Services Franklin Parish.
She leaves to cherish her memory son Tom Schooler, wife Connie, children Michael and wife Renee, Kim and husband Mark Wilson, Lori Schooler, Chris and wife Tara and Jason; son Harold "Bubba" Schooler and wife Elizabeth "Libby", child Michael Lee Schooler; son James "Butch" Schooler and wife Pat, child Amber and husband Andry Dressler; son Darly Schooler and wife Hope, children Hoff and wife Pam, Bryce and wife Amy, Kara and husband Greg Crawford; and blessed with 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Tom Kerrigan and wife Lois; sister, L. Vonne Anderson and husband Richard "Buddy"; sister-in-law Edith Rose Schooler; host of nieces and nephews; and a very special friend for the last six years Thomas Newman.
Pallbearers will be Andy Anderson, Larry Bruce, Ed Jones, Solomon Sarpong, Bryce Schooler, Hoff Schooler, Clark Smith and Bobby Wroton.
Friends may call for visitation on Wednesday after 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
