Story Archives: Come play a game for Jack

Come play a game for Jack
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
There aren't many ways to spend a Saturday than watching a softball game, especially when it's for a great cause.

On July, 17, there will be a softball benefit for four year-old Jackson Mock of West Monroe in Ruston.

Jack, who is battling leukemia, is the son of Candy Brister Mock, a native of Gilbert, and Larry Mock.

He will be spending at least three months in the hospital as he struggles with his illness.
Since Jack wasn't able to finish out his little league season, the benefit is called "A Game for Jack."

It will be a special event that will help him live the excitement of the game he loves as well as help his family cope with the mounting medical bills they are forced to incur as they care for him.

Teams will be coed or all men and it will cost $200 per-team to play in the benefit.

The deadline to sign up for this worthy cause is July 12. Those who would like to help can call Allison Warner Brister, Jack's aunt, at 614-0040 to sign up or purchase t-shirts for the event.
