Rogers-Mercer engagement
 Janice and Tommie Rogers of Lafayette are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Karla Laine Rogers, to Michael Tyler Mercer, son of Suzanne and J.W. Mercer of Winnsboro.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Effie Rogers and the late J.C. Rogers; Thelma Fortner and the late Jake Douglas Fortner of New Orleans.
The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Jesse and Ruby Mercer of Mangham and the late E. Fay and Lorene Walter of Winnsboro.
Karla is a graduate of Lafayette High School and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She has taught first grade for four years and will do the same from their new home in Spring, Texas.
Tyler is a graduate of Winnsboro High School. He graduated summa cum laude in civil engineering from Louisiana State University and is currently employed by Chevron in Houston as a subsea control systems engineer.
The couple will exchange vows at five o'clock in the evening on June 25, 2010 at the Ritz Carlton in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. |
