The boys of summer are back…

Looking for a way to enjoy an evening at the ballpark?

It's recruitment time once again for the Men's League Baseball (MLB) program and applications are ready to be picked up for athletes who think they have what it takes.

"The league gets bigger every season and we have several new players to add to the roster this year," said Joe Campbell, MLB coach. "It's a lot of fun and we're looking to have more teams than we've had in the past."

This is the fourth season for the MLB, which begins in July. Applications are available at Winnsboro Sports, Robinson's Auto Supply and Waller-Singer Chevrolet.

"We've had a good response from our sponsors so far," said Campbell, "and we are especially thankful for their support."

Players must be 21-years of age to participate and cannot be an active member of any other baseball roster including college, professional or semi-professional. Deadline for entry is July 15.

A meeting will be held June 12 between 10 a.m. and 12 noon. All interested players are encouraged to attend.

To mail an application, forward to Joe Campbell, 315 Parker Lane, Winnsboro; or Richie Kelley, 168 Lawson Road, Winnsboro.

For more information, contact Campbell at 318-439-0041 or Ray Robinson at 318-376-0743.
