Playoffs ahead for La. Patriots The Louisiana Patriots (7-1) will be back at home inside Patriot Stadium this Saturday night at 7 p.m. as they host the Lake Charles Panthers. This contest is a make-up game that was originally scheduled to be played in Winnsboro on May 1, but the Panthers sited bad weather conditions as a reason that they could not get a bus to take them up to north Louisiana. The league was notified of the situation and scheduled the make-up game for this Saturday. Lake Charles hosted the Patriots on March 20 and became just another victim along the way for the Patriots who have won eight games in a row.
The Patriots continue to field one of the most potent teams in all of semi-professional football both on offense and defense. The Patriot defense has been especially lethal to the opposition as they have pitched four shutouts and allowed very few touchdowns while forcing an incredible four interceptions and four quarterback sacks against the Gulf Coast Outlaws.
Tra Rea Givens and Montreal Miller continue to anchor the pass rush for the Patriots. Miller had two sacks againt Gulf Coast and the secondary has been just as lethal over the last two months of the season.
This marked the final regular season game of the 2010 season for the Patriots. The Patriots will likely host a first-round playoff contest next weekend and are poised to go into the post season favored to repeat as league champions. |
