Mangham High's hitting woes continued into the first round of the Class 2A playoffs as the Dragons fell to DeQuincy 4-1 Thursday in Mangham.

"It's the same old story of not being able to hit the baseball," said Mangham coach Scott Wilcher, whose team finished . "We just couldn't get the big hits when we needed them."
Mangham was seeded No. 16, while DeQuincy was the No. 17 seed.

Mangham finished its season at 15-19.

"We're going to stay together and play about 30 games this summer with the guys we feel can help the varsity next year," Wilcher said. "We'll be all right."

DeQuincy advanced to play St. Charles, the top-rated team in Class 3A.
St. Charles defeated Mamou, 5-3 on Thursday.
