Story Archives: Dragons complete regular season

Dragons complete regular season

Mangham High completed its regular season against Cedar Creek today and now waits for its first-round Class 2A playoff opponent.

The Dragons scored a total of five runs in their last four games prior to the contest against Cedar Creek.

"Our hitting has been our downfall," said Mangham coach Scott Wilcher. We're giving up 4.8 runs a game and scoring 4.6, so that doesn't work out too well."

Mangham defeated Farmerville 4-1 Thursday in its final District 2-2A contest before falling to Oak Grove 2-0 on Friday.

Wilcher was hoping for a first round game at home.

"You want to play at home, but especially our team because our crowds are very good and we have great support," Wilcher said. "We just have to pick it up a notch for the playoffs."
