Parish to honor academic achievers
The 2010 Academic Achievement Banquet will be held Thursday, April 29 in the Franklin Parish High School cafeteria beginning at 7 p.m.
The Winnsboro / Franklin Chamber of Commerce and the Franklin Parish School Board co-sponsor the event. Franklin Parish juniors and seniors who have a 3.5 or better GPA or a score of 25 or better on the ACT are invited to the banquet.
Eligible seniors attending the banquet receive scholarships by a random drawing.
Scholarships have ranged from $250 to $1,000 in previous years. There are 49 seniors and 30 juniors eligible for the banquet this year.
Anyone interested in making a contribution to the scholarships may call Jane Clark at the chamber office, 318-435-7551. General public tickets for the banquet are $10 and go on sell April 26. Seating is limited with students, parents and scholarship contributors having first chance for seats. |
