Odis 'Bud' W. Adcock
On April 17, 2010, a month short of his 78th birthday on May 17, Odis "Bud" W. Adcock passed from his home on earth to his eternal home.
Bud was born in 1932 in Hosston, La., to A.O. and Jettie Mae Adcock and attended school later in Winnsboro. At 17 he joined the Navy and after 2 years entered the Air Force. He served two tours in Vietnam and was also stationed in Germany. After retiring, having served 20 years, he went to work at Memorex in Santa Clara, Calif. When he tired of repairing computers at Memorex, Bud quit and started a successful utility trailer manufacturing business. In 1995, he and his companion of 30 years, June Lee Runyon, moved to Winnsboro. Bud has kept busy building, adding on to his property, and collecting, restoring and working with farm equipment.
Bud was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, having joined Post #4647 in North Highlands, Calif., where he resided for several years.
Survivors include June L. Runyon; his brother Curtis E. Adcock and companion Florence Hitt of Winnsboro; son Randy L. and wife Trinnie A. of Los Banos, CA.; son Ricky, now living in Florida; daughter Darlene Wendlandt and husband Jeff of Santa Clara, Calif.; and daughter Lani E. Wilkin of Roseville, Calif.
He is also survived by his adoring grandchildren, Allisen A. Diaz and husband Joseph Lee, Leslie Adcock and companion T.J. Loebig, Jacob A. Coates and Hannah E. Coates, all of Calif., along with great-grandson Joseph Jacob Diaz. There are many nieces, nephew and cousins, along with four very special friends, Jason Adams, Tommy Potter and Terry Sharp all of Winnsboro, and LeRoy Hamm of Rio Linda, Calif.
Preceding him death were his parents, A. O. and Jettie Mae Adcock, the mother of his children, Clariece Adcock, sisters: Selma Williams, Eva Williams and Shirley Stewart.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no services. Bud will be cremated and at some point in time, his ashes will be scattered to "the four winds" as he requested. Many thanks and love to all who cared so very much, recently and over the years. Remember him with love.

Louis R. Reed
Funeral services for Louis R. Reed were held Sunday, April 18, 2010 at Apostolic Faith Chapel officiating will be Bishop Virgil Harris, Rev. Curtis Harris and Rev. Bobby Ensminger. Burial followed at Crowville Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home Winnsboro.
Mr. Reed was born on June 22, 1936 in Deville, La., and passed from this life on April 15, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his famly and friends.
Mr. Reed was a resident of Baskin and was a retired supervisor with the oilfield industry.
He is preceded in death by his parents Louis R. and Mary Magdalene Miller Reed; sisters: Lizzie Pippins, Mildred Brown and Pauline Pippins.
Survivors include his wife MaryAnn Reed of Baskin; sister Linda King and brother George Reed; children: Betty E. Jones and husband Mitchell of Fort Necessity, Vikki J. Brewer and husband Chris of Natchez, Miss., Mary L. Tearny and husband Jim of California, Lesa L. Davis and husband Benny of Seminole, Texas; step-children: Patricia Bagly, Melvin E. Qualls, Richard Fair, Donald Woods, Lela and Andy Parker, AnnieDale and Ronald Pitman, George and Ennis Canady, Jr.; 25 grandchildren,16 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, close friends Charles and Dorothy Opitz, Louis and Nancy Ragland.
Pallbearers were Chris Brewer, Benny Davis, Tommy Hendry Jr., Jonathan Jones, Brian Nielsen and Joey Nielsen. Honorary Pallbearers were Mitchell Jones and Charles Opitz.
In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Shiners Children's Hospital, 3100 Samford Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71103.

Jeremy Dewayne Towell
Funeral services for Jeremy Dewayne Towell, 25, of Columbia, were held at Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, April 15, 2010, with Rev. Jack McKeithen officiating. Burial followed at Coax Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
Mr. Towell was born August 30, 1984 in Monroe, and passed away Monday, April 12, 2010 at Opelousas, LA. He was a resident of Columbia, a motorman on a land rig, and a member of the Baptist faith. Jeremy was also a member of the Boeuf River Band of Cherokee.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Leslie Diane Graham; maternal grandfather, Joe Vines.
Survivors include his parents, Larry and Virginia (Vines) Towell of Columbia; son, Payton Towell; brother, Kevin Towell; sister, Dana Towell; niece, Shelby Towell; fiance', Chelsea Sikes; maternal grandmother, Catherine (Fitch) Vines; step daughters: Jade Keen and Jalen Keen, all of Columbia; numerous aunts, uncles, family and friends.
Pallbearers were J. D. Steward, Ronnie Scarbourgh, Nick Stapleton, Michael Caldwell, Daniel Chapman, and Eric Powell.

Lillie Lorena Vines
Funeral services for Lillie Lorena Vines, 90, were held Monday April 19, 2010 at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Perry officiating. Burial followed at Legion Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home Winnsboro.
Mrs. Vines was born on October 6, 1919 and died on April 16, 2010 at Plantation Manor Nursing Center Winnsboro.
She was a resident of Newellton, a homemaker and a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Lamar Vines Sr.
Survivors include her children: Clarence Lamar "Sonnyboy" Vines Jr., Dorothy Lorena Harvill, Betty Dean Powell, Barbara Jean Tatum, Virginia Ann Marriott, Ronald Lynn Vines and Kenneth Wayne Vines; 16 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Douglas Harvill, Michael Harville, Aaron Pok, Ray Tatum Jr., Caleb Vines and Josh Vines.
