Rodney Smith to be featured artist at Schepis
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The Schepis Museum will host a Meet the Artist Reception on Thursday, April 16th from 4 to 6 p.m. for featured artist Rodney Smith. A native of Winnsboro, Rodney will be completing his Bacheolor of Fine Arts Degree in photography from Louisiana Tech in May. He is a non-traditional photographer, able to express his personality by capturing the unexpected, making the mundane interesting. This exhibition contains portions of his latest body of work "South of the Tracks" that displays the daily realities of a low income community and deals with the issues of race, cultural unity, and the American dream. (See a sample of his work at RodneySmithArt.com.)

The Schepis, located at 106 Main Street in Columbia, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is free.
