FA Cougars fall to Riverdale, 6-4
Franklin Academy dropped a tough heartbreaker to Riverdale, 6-4, Thursday, but still has a chance to capture the MAIS District 7A title as the Cougars host Riverfield Friday.
Franklin and Riverfield both have one loss in district, while Riverdale is unbeaten, but still must play Franklin again and Riverfield twice.
Riverfield was upset by Claiborne last week.
"There are four teams with a chance to win district," said Franklin coach Chris Sullivan.
Franklin defeated Union 17-1 after falling to Riverdale.
"We just couldn't hit the ball and when we did we left people on base," Sullivan said.
Franklin plays at Central Tuesday before hosting Riverfield.
"We still control our own destiny," Sullivan said. |
