Mangham Dragons making improvements Mangham High head baseball coach Scott Wilcher thinks his team is turning a corner. And he believes a 10-0 loss to Ouachita Christian last Tuesday is a reason for that turn.
"That may sound strange, but that was one of our better games," Wilcher said. "Everybody hit the ball right to somebody. And everything they hit found a hole. But I saw a lot of improvement and a much better effort."
Mangham followed up that effort by going 2-1 in the LaSalle/Caldwell Tournament.
The Dragons defeated Bastrop 5-2 before falling to LaSalle 6-2.
"We faced their pitcher who signed with LSU-Eunice," Wilcher said. "But we didn't strike out a lot."
Mangham beat Rayville 12-2 in its final game of the tournament.
"I saw a lot of good things and feel a lot better about where we are," Wilcher said.
Mangham faced Caldwell today (Tuesday).
The Dragons visit Sterlington Thursday. |
