Delhi Charter comes into the game on a five-game losing streak. The Gators have met two teams in the Mathew Johnston Memorial Tournament in the past, Franklin Parish and Rayville. The Gators began the regular season with a 15-8 victory over the Patriots two weeks ago.

DCS is coming off a four straight losses in the Trey Altic Memorial Tournament at Sterlington High School.

The Gators could not find any consistency on the mound or at the plate during the tournament. The Gators did come out of the tournament with experience against four top Class 2A opponents in the process of the four losses, Northlake Christian ripped the Gators 13-0 on Thursday night.

The offense found some life on Friday night but breakdowns in defense and pitching lead to a 15-5 loss to Holy Savior Menard. The two teams that met in the Class 2A state championship game last season, the Sterlington Panthers and Evangel Christian Academy Eagles were on the docket for the Gators on Satuday.

The Gators got back to good form on the mound and found ways to make a few good defensive plays before falling to Class 2A runner-up Sterlington 4-1 Saturday morning.
Evangel, the defending state champions of Class 2A, were much more offensively potent as they belted out double-digits in hits and downed the Gators 10-0.

Delhi Charter will not return home until next Thursday when they play host to the Oak Grove Tigers in a district series.
