Burial followed at Bell Union Cemetery under the direction of Richardson and Sims Funeral Home. Mr. Grimble died Monday at St. Francis Medical Center. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Grimble; sons: Kevin Rollins, Curtis Grimble Jr.; daughter, Sarah Grimble; two brothers: Samuel Grimble, Willie D. Grimble; one grandchild.
Alton Hill Funeral services for Alton Hill, 77, of Wisner, will be held at South Central Baptist Church on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Larry Eubanks, Rev. Bobby Emsminger, Rev. Johnny Smith, and Rev. T. J. Boyd officiating. Burial will follow at South Central Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Mr. Hill was born July 25, 1932 in Wisner, and passed away Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010 at Cornerstone Hospital in West Monroe. He was a resident of Wisner, a shop forman with the La. Dept. of Transportation and a member of the Baptist faith. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine (Sanson) Hill; father, Izra Hill; and mother, Annie Mae (Jones) Hill. Survivors include his daughter, Danielle Hill of Wisner; son, Jason Hill and wife Monica of Summit, Miss.; two brothers: Robert Earl Hill and wife Elaine Ferrington Hill of Gilbert; Carey Wayne Hill and wife Susan of Winnsboro; two sisters: Annie Pearl Parker and Maxie Faye Currington and husband Gerald, all of Wisner; three grandchildren: Victoria, Jason Jr., and Aimee Hill all of Summit, Miss.; a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Pallbearers will be Michael Parker, Billy Parker, Bennie Ray Parker Jr., Kevin Currington, Ronnie Fatzer, and Darron Beach. Rita Jennings Funeral Service for Rita Jennings, 79, of West Monroe, were held Friday, February 26, 2010 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Winnsboro, with Rev. Bill Nash officiating. Burial followed at Harris Cemetery in Crowville. Mrs. Jennings was born on July 25, 1930 in Winnsboro, and passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 in West Monroe. She loved horses, reading, riding and play days. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Jennings. She is survived by daughter, Cynthia Grubbs and her husband Donnie; son Donnie Brooks and wife, Christy; grandchildren, Lucy Brantley, Josh Brooks, and Zach Brooks; great grandchildren, Jace and Jozy Brantley; sisters, Mary Evans and Odean Laborde; numerous nieces and nephews and her dog, Penny. Margaret L. McLeod Service for Margaret L. McLeod, 63, were held Monday, March 1, 2010 at Apostolic Faith Chapel with Bishop Virgil Harris and Rev. Curtis Harris officiating. Ms. McLeod was born on April 26, 1946 at Monticello, Miss., and died on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010 at Rapides Regional Medical Center Alexandria after an extended illness. She was a resident of Wisner, retired with the New Mexico Prison System, and a member of the Pentecostal faith. She is preceded in death by her parents Luther Henry McLeod and Ellen Marie King McLeod; brother Jewell Dean McLeod. Survivors include her sisters: Susis Copper and Beverlylene McLeod; brothers: Earl, Sam, Bruce, Bobby and Wayne McLeod; also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Stephen J. Evans February 26, 2010 marks the passing of Stephen J. Evans, 59 years old of Winnsboro, La. He is preceded in death by his wife Marian S. Evans, and parents Kathleen and Shirley Evans all of Winnsboro. He is survived by his second wife Donice Evans of Winnsboro, and her daughter, Charlie Sanford and her husband Ryan and granddaughter Kylie of Mt. Olive, Miss.; daughter, Megan Smith and husband Anthony and grandchildren, Dakoda, Chase, and Michaela of Pearl, Miss.; and her son, Chuck Cotton and his wife Sherree and grandchildren, Hunter and Jacob of Florence, Miss. Stephen is further survived by his son, Jon and wife Denise and granddaughter Renee of Midwest City, Okla., and granddaughter Amber Haysmer and husband Andrew and great granddaughter Kelsey Kay of Harrah, Okla.; his daughter Stacey Gercia and husband Alex and granddaughter Regan and grandson Josh of Edmond, Okla. Denny Fay Taylor A memorial service for Denny Fay Taylor, 63, of Columbia, will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, March 8, 2010 at River of Life Church in Winnsboro. Mr. Taylor passed away of Tuesday, Feb.. 23, 2010. He was born Oct. 22, 1946 to Homer W. and Jimmie Lee Taylor. He was preceded in death by his father.
