by Joey Martin - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Mangham High is hosting a baseball tournament Thursday through Saturday.

The Dragons opened their season at home Monday against Ouachita Christian. Details from that game will be in next week's Franklin Sun.

The Dragons have competed in jamborees, but like most teams have been unable to get outside because of the weather.

"We haven't hit the ball yet," said Mangham coach Scott Wilcher. "But our pitching has looked good."

Mangham hosts Ouachita High today.

The Mangham Tournament begins Thursday at 5 p.m. with LaSalle taking on Delhi Charter. LaSalle meets Franklin Parish at 7:30 p.m.

On Friday, Caldwell meets Mangham at 5 p.m., followed by Vidalia against Mangham, at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Franklin faces Delhi Charter at 10 a.m.

Vidalia meets Caldwell at 12:30 p.m.

Caldwell faces Franklin at 2:45 p.m., followed by Vidalia against LaSalle at 5 p.m. and Mangham against Delhi Charter at 7:30 p.m.

"Hopefully our hitting will get better because we have a tough schedule," Wilcher said. "It's just a matter of getting on the field."

Mangham will also be one of the hosts for the 2010 Bayou State Prep Classic.

Mangham will face Calvary on March 4 at 6 p.m.

On Friday, March 5, Riverside will face Sacred Heart at Mangham at 3 p.m., followed by Mangham against Eunice and University against Loyola.

On Saturday, beginning at 9:30 p.m., Dunham faces Choudrant. Mangham takes on Oak Grove at noon. St. Charles meets Vermilion catholic, followed by Claiborne Christian against Episcopal.

At 7:30 p.m., Mangham meets Holy Cross.

On Sunday, March 7 at 11 a.m., John Curtis faces North Vermilion.

Other tournament games will be played at Ouachita Christian, St. Frederick, Cedar Creek and Sterlington.
