James 'Jamie' Benson
James "Jamie" Benson, 62, of Winnsboro, was born November 9, 1947 in Philadelphia, Miss., and passed away February 1, 2010 at his home in Winnsboro. Jamie was a loving soul, caring for animals, children, and friends. Jamie is survived by one daughter and two grandchildren of Mississippi; and by his beloved Louisiana family. His funeral service was Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home.

Ruth Sisk Cuny
Services for Ruth Sisk Cuny age 85, of Winnsboro, were held Friday, Feb. 5, 2010 at Temple Baptist Church in Winnsboro with Dr. Bill Robertson, Bro. William Busby and Rev. Bobby Brown officiating. Burial followed in New Winnsboro Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
Mrs. Cuny was a Charter Member of Temple Baptist Church, longtime Sunday School Teacher of 60 years. Her Sunday School Class was called "Ruth's Sunday School Class." She was a retired elementary school teacher, a devoted wife and mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. After her illness her ministry was sending cards that she made.
Mrs. Cuny was preceded in death by her parents: Jack Gilbert Sisk and Sallie Sisk; sister: Adrienne Wilson; and brother: Wade Sisk.
Survivors include her husband: John A.Cuny of Winnsboro; daughter: Karen Lee of Shreveport; son: John Dana Cuny of Denver, Colo.; son-in-aw: Oscar Wayne Lee of Shreveport; five grandchildren: Jonathan Lee of Bossier City, Melissa Stoker of New Port News, Va.; Benjamin Lee of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; Melanie Cuny of Indianapolis, Ind.; Patrick Cuny of Indianapolis, Ind.; seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jonathan Lee, Benjamin Lee, Sonny Wilson, Johnny Wayne Sisk, Bunny McMurray, and Winton Lofton.
Honorary pallbearers were Clifton Davis, Gayle Sisk, Danny Sisk, and Millard Osborn.

Mrs. Billie Parker Donnell
Funeral services for Mrs. Billie Parker Donnell, 82, of Winnsboro will be 2 p.m. Wednesday (today) at the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Crowville Masonic Cemetery.
Mrs. Donnell was born on February 28, 1927 to the union of Maxie and Willie Hughes Parker, and died on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010 at Franklin Medical Center Winnsboro.
She was a retired clerk, a resident of Winnsboro and a member of First Baptist Church Winnsboro.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Parker, sister Christine Adams.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years Joe Donnell of Winnsboro; and her daughter Betty O'Brian of Winnsboro. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Wednesday at noon until time of service.

Fay Buie Etheridge
Services for Fay Buie Etheridge, 73, of Winnsboro, are incomplete under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
Mr. Etheridge died Monday, Feb. 8, 2010.

Thomas Ray Hart
Funeral services for Thomas Ray Hart, 39, of Mangham were held Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at New Hope Baptist Church in Liddieville. Burial followed in the church cemetery under the direction of Richardson Funeral Home, Winnsboro.
Mr. Hart passed away Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010 at Richardson Medical Center in Rayville.
Survivors include sons: Thomas T.R. Allen, Monroe; Donavan Johnson, Rayville; daughter, Rashaundlyn Whitley, Wisner; father, Danielson Hart, Winnsboro; brothers: Johnny, Jessie, Oscar, Kenneth, and Bobby Joe Hart, all of Winnsboro; Archie Hart, Archibald; sisters: Barbara Johnson, Eve Johnson and Geraldine Boley, all of Winnsboro; Tina Robinson, Baskin; special friends: Sandra Johnson and Angela Jones of Winnsboro.
Pallbearers were Dale Crockham, Johnny Banks, Curtis Pleasant, Russell Boley, Derrick Boley and Charlie Geeks.

Buddy Mason
Funeral services for Buddy Mason, 83, of Wisner will be today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at Apostolic Faith Chapel, Gilbert.
Burial will follow at Holly Grove Cemetery, Wisner under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home, Winnsboro.
Mr. Mason, retired from Wisner Minnow Hatchery, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010 at his residence.

Ethel Mae McKay
Funeral services for Ethel Mae McKay, 88, of Winnsboro, were held at Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, February 5, 2010, with Rev. Ron Ferrington officiating. Burial followed at Providence Memorial Cemetery in Winnsboro, under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
Mrs. McKay was born July 1, 1921 in Franklin County, Miss., and passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010 at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro. She retired from the Garment Factory, worked for the ULM Senior Program with Franklin Parish Council on Aging , and was a member of the Magnolia Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. McKay; father, George W. Delaney; mother, Rosa Pollard Delaney; two brothers: J.B. and Clyde Delaney; sister: Beaulah Wells.
Survivors include her daughters: Katherin and her husband Hollis Parker of Sicily Island; Nannette and her husband Tom Watkins of Jena, La.; son, John Wesley Sr. and his wife Connie McKay of Winnsboro; sister: Bonnie Lee Wactor of LaPlace, La.; seven grandchildren: Brett Parker of Casper, Wyo.; Dedra Smith of Sicily Island; Matthew Watkins of Minden, La; Aaron Watkins of Dry Creek, La; Caleb Watkins of Baton Rouge; John Wesley McKay Jr. of Lagrange, Ind.; Paul McKay of Shreveport; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mike Emfinger, Roger Ulmer, James Shirley, Bruce Irwin, and Ben Bird.
Honorary Pallbearers were her grandsons: Brett Parker, Matthew Watkins, John McKay, Aaron Watkins, Paul McKay, and Caleb Watkins.

Promise 'Duck' Whitlock
Funeral services for Promise (Duck) Whitlock, 50, of Gilbert, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010 at New Macedonia Baptist Church in Gilbert, with Dr. M.L. Jackson and Rev. Kings Dawson officiating. Services will be under the direction of Golden Gate Funeral Home, Dallas, Texas.
Mr. Whitlock passed away Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010 at Medical City Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
