Curtis Brass Funeral services for Curtis Brass, 74, of New Orleans, formerly of Wisner, were held Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010 at Holly Grove Baptist Church Wisner. Burial followed in the church cemetery under the direction of Richardson and Sims Funeral Home.
Lettie Hardin Funeral services for Lettie Hardin, 83, of Winnsboro will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at 12 noon, at Truelight Baptist Church in Winnsboro. Burial will follow at Cuba Cemetery, under the direction of Richardson Funeral Home, Winnsboro. Mrs. Hardin died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010 at Franklin Medical Center. Survivors include her sons: Henry Hardin Jr., Kansas City, Kansas; Lemark Hardin and Ben Hardin, both of Winnsboro; Henry B. Hardin of Matteson, Illinois; Llewain Hardin, Green Bay, Wis.; Randy Hardin, Joe Hardin and Orlinzia Hardin, all of Winnsboro; daughter, Alice J. Hardin, Chicago; 27 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Her sons served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were her grandsons and deacons of Truelight Baptist Church.
Eva Marie Martin Funeral services for Eva Marie Martin, 84, of Gilbert, were held at Calvary Baptist Church on Monday, January 25, 2010, with Rev. Bobby Emsminger and Rev. Howard Childs officiating. Burial followed at New Zion Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Mrs. Martin was born June 28, 1925 in Mississippi and passed away Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010 at her residence in Gilbert. She was a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Buck Martin; father, William M. Smith; mother, Annie Jane (Smith) Smith; four brothers: Eugene Smith, Willard Smith, William "Bill" Smith, and John A. Smith; four sisters: Mrytis Crawford, Ellie Crawford, Lou Mae Smith, and Neva Phillips. Survivors include her son, Louis "Mike" Martin and wife Sheila of Winnsboro; daughter, Cookie Foster of Gilbert; brother, Charles Smith and wife Bobbie of Winnsboro; sister, Clara Bruce of Winnsboro; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Pallbearers were Melvin Foster, Chuck Foy, Joe Hair, Earl Thomas, Carey Joe Ellerbe, and Bud Arnold. Honorary Pallbearers were Trampest Martin, Buckley Foster, and Heath Martin. Mary "Pud" Powers McLemore Mary "Pud" Powers McLemore, 62, of West Monroe, formerly of Winnsboro died Friday, January 22, 2010 after a lengthy illness. She was a retired educator and educational consultant. She is survived by two daughters, Lea McLemore and Alicia McLemore Bal; one sister, Janis Townsend; one brother, Sam Powers. Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home and burial followed at Pine Grove Cemetery.
Vada Miller Funeral Services for Vada Miller, 78, were held Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010 at the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home Winnsboro. Burial followed at Highland Park Cemetery Sicily Island. Mrs. Miller was born on Oct. 3, 1931 and died on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010 at Coronerstone Hospital West Monroe. She was a resident of Wisner, a homemaker and a member of the Methodist Faith. She is preceded in death by her husband Dale Miller. Gary Netherland Funeral services for Gary Netherland, 49, of Delhi, were held at Life Church on Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, with Rev. Kevin Bates and Rev. B.J. Hales officiating. Mr. Netherland was born May 3, 1960 in San Diego, Calif., and passed away Friday, Jan. 22, 2010 at LSUMC-E.A. Conway Medical Center in Monroe. He was a resident of Delhi and a surveyor and seismographer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita (Bridges) Netherland; sister, Kathy Netherland. Survivors include his father, Carl Netherland; three daughters: Amy Boyd and DeDe Netherland and fiance Eric Payne, all of Delhi; Katie Netherland of Gladewater, Texas; three sisters: Peggy Deason and fiance Thomas Futch of Calhoun; Margie Chisolm and husband Robert of Holly Ridge; Carolyn Eubanks and husband Larry of Grand Bay, Ala.; grandchildren: Llyssa Boyd and William Boyd; Kylee Payne and Addison Payne; special niece - "Red"; and ahost of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Pallbearers were Mark Futch, Steve Netherland, Larry Eubanks, Thomas Futch, B. J. Hales, and Robert Chisolm. Mrs. Sharbono was born July 5, 1949 in Rayville, and passed away Monday, Jan. 18, 2010 in West Monroe. Mrs. Sharbono was a member and treasurer of Eastside Baptist Church. She was a past Committee Chair Person for Rayville Relay for Life. She retired from Richland Parish School Board after working 27 years at Richland State Bank in Rayville. She taught Sunday School for many years. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lady Lee; and her brother, Simmie Earl Lee. Survivors include her husband of 24 years, Sam Sharbono of Rayville; children, Amy Dixon and husband, Todd of Delhi; Jason Sharbono and wife, Shandalyn of Rayville; and Justin Sharbono of Salem, Ark.; siblings: Sammy Ray Lee Sr. and wife, Annette of Baskin; Penney Searcy Earl and husband, Eddie of Baskin; and Paul "Boo" Kevin Lee Sr. and wife, Monna of Eros; grandchildren: Alicia Dixon, Trent Dixon, Trevor Dixon, Leslie Ann Sharbono, and Zachary Sharbono; nieces and nephews, Sammy Lee Jr., Sunny Searcy, John Thomas, Paul Kevin Lee, Jr., Ryan Earl, Anna Earl, and Derek Earl; great-nieces, Olivia Lee, Christian Lee, and Carolyn Lee; great-great niece, Chloe Garcia.
