Eddis and Larry Joe Poland of Crowville announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Theresa Annette Poland to Jesse Donald Shiers Jr. of Rayville. He is the son of Ramona and Jesse Shiers.

The bride-elect is the maternal granddaughter of the late Mr. Clovis E. Sturdivant and the late Mr. and Mrs. Bud Temple of Crowville, and the late Mrs. Helen Cruse of Winnsboro. She is the paternal granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Stanford Poland of Crowville.

The prospective groom is the maternal grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesus Andrade of Tamazula, Mexico. Paternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. L.C. Shiers Jr. of Rayville.

Theresa is a graduate of Ward III High School and Louisiana Technical College. She is currently employed by Cupit's Corner in Baskin.

Jesse is a graduate of Mangham High School, the University of Louisiana at Monroe and the North Delta Police Academy. He is currently employed as a corrections officer at the Richland Parish Detention Center and a police officer for the Baskin Police Department.

The wedding is set for three o'clock in the afternoon on February 6, 2010, at Coax Baptist Church. Rev. Paul Perry and Dr. Clovois Harold Sturdivant will officiate the ceremony.

Friends and family of the couple are invited to attend through this medium.
