Legacy of Floyd Cramer and Chet Atkins to peform at Princess Theatre The Princess Theatre kicks off its 2010 season on Friday, Jan. 22, with a concert by Jason Coleman and Meagan Taylor.
Jason and Meagan are descendants of Country Music Hall of Fame legends Floyd Cramer and Chet Atkins. Jason, the grandson of Floyd Cramer, continues the piano sound made famous by his legendary grandfather. Guitarist Meagan Taylor, the niece of the immortal Chet Atkins, plays the famous finger-picking style.
Meagan and Jason have joined to form The Nashville Sound Revival. Together they reignite the musical relationship shared by their famous predecessors in a truly remarkable concert experience. Princess Theatre executive director, Gene Thompson, stated he is very excited about the event.
"With Meagan on guitar and Jason on piano, audiences are treated to an unbeatable combination of the classic songs made famous by Floyd and Chet – including "Last Date," "Mr. Sandman," "The End Of The World," "Sweet Dreams," and "San Antonio Rose" – as well as an eclectic mix of country, bluegrass, and folk melodies highlighted by the duo's unique vocal and musical harmonies", said Thompson. "I really feel that anyone who loves music doesn't want to miss this great concert."
The box office opens at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7p.m. Tickets are by series membership or $15 for ages 13 and above while ages 12 and under is $10 and are on sale now. For more information contact the Princess Theatre at 318-435-6299 or princesstheatre@bellsouth.net. |
