Lady Cougars place third in Prairie View
Franklin Academy's girls placed third in the Prairie View Tournament, while the Cougar boys played three games.
The Lady Cougars fell to Claiborne Academy in their first game, but rebounded with wins over Union Christian and Riverfield Academy.
Franklin's boys lost to Claiborne 47-24 in their opener as Dusty Barefield netted 15 points.
Franklin defeated Union Christian 34-33 as Barefield led the way with 18 points and Lathan Taylor added 10.
Franklin fell to Riverfield 62-30 Saturday. Barefield scored 18.
"We're just trying to get some momentum going," said Franklin coach Tommy Kimbrough.
"Right now we're not fundamentally sound, but we're had some injuries and are playing a lot of young guys." |
