James Edward Ainsworth
James Edward Ainsworth, 73, of Enterprise, La., passed from this life on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, at the LaSalle General Hospital. He was born on March 11, 1936, to the union of James Elbert and Willie Mae Ainsworth. He was a retired river boat captain and a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend to all who knew him.
Services were held Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at The New Ouachita Baptist Church in Enterprise, with the Rev. Emile Bordelon and the Rev. Perry Gardner officiating. Burial followed in the Roesfield Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home, Jonesville.
Mr. Ainsworth was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 1/2 years, Emma Octavia Richey Ainsworth; one daughter, Emma Lynette Hebert and husband, Gary of Sicily Island; four sons: Billy Wayne and wife Sandra of Manifest; Edward Levell and wife Brenda, James Cleveland and wife Debbie, Jeffery David and wife Teresa, all of Enterprise; 10 grandchildren: Jamey Ainsworth, Andy Ainsworth, Carrie Koster, Devon Smith, Jesse Ainsworth, Michael Ainsworth, Derek Ainsworth, Connor Ainsworth, Adam Ainsworth, and Kayla Ainsworth; five great-grandchildren: Alston and Breanna Townsend; Ava Lee Koster, Peyton Ainsworth, and Olivia Ainsworth; three brothers: Ralph, David and Peewee Ainsworth; six sisters: Martha Alexander, Carolyn Humble, Shirley Mitchell, Linda Tarver, Francis McGuffee and Liz Prudhomme. Pallbearers were grandson and great-grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers were granddaughters and great-granddaughters.

Chester W. Kenney
Services for Chester W. Kenney, 69, of Wisner will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009 at Eureka Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Arnold officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home Winnsboro.
Mr. Kenney was born on Sept. 16, 1940 in the Kendrick Ferry Community and died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009 at Promise Hospital Vidalia.
He was a resident of Wisner, attended Gilbert High School, he was a farmer at heart and a carpenter. Also a member of Eureka Baptist Church.
He was next to the last of 11 children, six boys and five girls.
He is preceded in death by his father Willie Eugene Kenney, his mother Mary Jane Kimball Kenney, sister Bernice Gillispie, brothers Amos, Tillman, Henry, W. E. "Sonny" Kenney and a grandson Mason Sterling.
Survivors include his children: Kellie Dee Kenney, Holly Renee Kenney and Marcus Wayne Kenney; grandchildren: Shalane Vacco, Cheree and Montana Sterling, Haleigh and Stephen Bryant, Elijah, Benjamin and Helen Estelle Kenney; great-grandson Jayden Glenn Vacco, also one great and one grandchild on the way; brother Phillip Kenney; sisters: Betty Ruth Stephens, Luella Booth, Margie Walker and Lillie Roberts; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Barnett, Donald Bailey, Stacy Boone, Robbie Roberts, Art Kenney, Clay Kenney, Terry Barton, Johnny Ray Barton, Glenn Kenney, Louie Boone and Jessie Armstrong.
Visitation will be Tuesday 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the church.

Mary Cruse Davis
Funeral service for Mary Cruse Davis, 59, of Winnsboro were held Monday, Dec., 14, 2009 in the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro with Rev. Floyd Hawthorne and Rev. Gary Bankston officiating. Burial followed in Myrtle Memorial Cemetery in Winnsboro. She was born to Lacy and Daisy Tina Poole Cruse on Jan. 3, 1950 and passed from this life Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009 at her residence in Winnsboro.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, husband Hines Davis, and a brother George Cruse.
She leaves behind four siblings: Charles Cruse, Brenda Cruse, Caroline Wright, and Marvin Cruse all of Winnsboro; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Charles Cruse, Michael Cruse, Joe Doughty, Lamar Johnson, Donnie Wright and Dusty Wright.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Bobby Davis, Lanny Poole, Jeff Wright, and Michael Wright.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to Hospice TLC- 2401 Loop Road- Winnsboro, LA 71295.

William Douglas
Funeral services for William Douglas, 62, of Wisner were held Monday at St. Paul #1 Baptist Church in Wisner. Burial followed at Holly Grove Cemetery near Wisner, under the direction of Richardson Funeral Home, Winnsboro.
Mr. Douglas died Wednesday, Dec. .9, 2009 at Franklin Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Johnson Douglas, Wisner; daughters, Joycelynn Douglas, Wisner; Misty Douglas, Dallas, Texas; Samantha Douglas, Baton Rouge; brothers: Andre Douglas, Mack Arthur Douglas and Henry Douglas, all of Lake Charles; Burnell Douglas, Baton Rouge; Lonnie Douglas, Sicily Island; sisters: Linnie C. Porter, Odessa Douglas, and Viola Douglas, all of Sicily Island; one grandchild; mother-in-law, Charity Johnson, Wisner; and a host of other relatives, church family and friends.

Gussie B. Davis
Funeral services for Gussie B. Davis, 93, of Winnsboro are incomplete at this time under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home Winnsboro.
Mrs. Davis was born on November 5, 1916 in Kokomo, Mississippi and died on Monday, December 14, 2009 at Charlyn Nursing Center Winnsboro.

Jay McCarta
Jay McCarta, 29, a oil field worker and resident of Gilbert, died Monday, Dec. 14, 2009.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home, Winnsboro.

Ollie Mae Lee Stephens
Funeral services for Ollie Mae Lee Stephens, 88, of Winnsboro were held Monday, Dec. 14, 2008 in the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro with Rev. David Mosley officiating. Burial followed in Providence Memorial Cemetery in Winnsboro.
She was born to Edmond and Ida Thornhill Lee on July 22, 1921 in Bude, Miss., and passed from this life Friday, Dec. 11, 2009 in Baton Rouge.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jessie Stephens; sister Evelyn Barfield; and four brothers John, Gene, Bill and R. E. Lee.
Mrs. Stephens leaves behind six children: Ronnie Stephens of Baton Rouge, Mary Catherine Schiebel of San Antonio, Texas, Larry Stephens of Winnsboro, Jesslyn Landers of Port Allen, Kay Weatherly of Delhi, and Ken Stephens of Mt. Sterling, KY; two brothers: Charles Lee of Bastrop and James Lee of Winnsboro; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Scott Biggs, Christopher Landers, Matthew Landers, Keith Schiebel, Jason Scott, Shane Scott, and Patrick Stephens. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Jack Hammons and Brian Schiebel.
