Givens-Brown engagement
 Douglas and Kimberly Givens of Jigger and Donnie and Sadie Sims Lopez of Kilgore, Texas, announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Megan Nichole Givens, to Derek Jay Brown of Notasulga, Ala. He is the son of James Brown and Karen Robinson of Overton, Texas.
Maternal grandparents of the bride-elect are the late Dollie and David Sims of Winnsboro. Paternal grandparents are Geneva and Edward Givens of Fort Necessity.
Megan is a graduate of Sabine High School and is currently attending nursing school at Kilgore College.
Maternal grandparents of the prospective groom are Nina and Sammy Bell of Overton, Texas. Paternal grandparents are Linda and Terry Champion and Gaynell and James Bown of Notasulga, Ala.
Derek is a graduate of Notasulga High School. He is currently employed in the oilfield with Robinson's Rediron.
The wedding is set for two o'clock in the afternoon, Saturday, December 19, 2009, at the Lighthouse Church of Liberty City in Gladewater, Texas. Minister Jake Wommer will officiate the ceremony.
