Mangham High ran into a buzzsaw Friday as the Dragons fell to top-rated and 23-time state champion John Curtis 63-0 in a first round Class 2A contest.

It ended the year for Mangham, which finished 5-6 in its first year in Class 2A under first-year coach Tommy Tharp.

John Curtis' first four touchdowns came through the air in a 63-0 victory over Mangham. It was John Curtis' 24th consecutive victory dating to last season.

The Patriots (10-0) will travel to No. 17 seed Opelousas Catholic, a 29-12 upset winner over Loreauville.

Patriots quarterback Bryce Jenkins completed 5 of 6 passes for 72 yards and three touchdowns. His TD strikes went to Josh Hansberry (14 yards), Leonard Wasike (29 yards) and Jonathan McKnight (6 yards).

McKnight also returned an interception 60 yards for a score.Eight different Patriots scored touchdowns and placekicker Brandon Naumann added a 31-yard field goal.
