Mangham heads to New Orleans Mangham High gets baptized into Class 2A by drawing perennial power John Curtis in a first round playoff game in New Orleans.
"They are probably as close to unbeatable as any team in the state, but we feel like there are some things we can do," said first-year Mangham coach Tommy Tharp. "There's no doubt they are a good football team. It should be a lot of fun playing them and it's going to be a good experience for our guys."
Mangham fell to 5-5 after a 50-35 loss to Lake Providence.
The Panthers upset Ferriday two weeks ago.
Sophomore quarterback Lamar Carraway led the Lake Providence win.
"He almost beat us single-handedly," Tharp said. "We just didn't play disciplined football." Curtis (9-0), the No. 1-ranked team in Class 2A, has won 23 state titles. |
