District Champion Franklin Academy placed four players on the 2009 All-District 7-A Softball team. Leading the way for the Lady Cougars was senior Savannah Shipman who was chosen co-most valuable player by the coaches of the district. Shipman, who was chosen to her third consecutive all-district team, batted .344 for the season while scoring 32 runs in 34 games.

Ariel Gill was another repeater on the all-district squad for Franklin earning a position at shortstop for the second time. Gill batted .336 for the season playing shortstop and third base.

Two first time starters for the Lady Cougars rounded out the all-district team. Autumn Acree was Franklin's leading hitter for the year batting .428. Acree played left field and pitched for the Lady Cougars compiling a record of nine wins and five losses for the season.

Junior Amber Trisler batted .355 for the year while playing third base and left field on defense. Trisler batted clean up for the Lady Cougars and was a team leader in runs batted in.

All four players were instrumental in leading Franklin to its fourth consecutive district championship and the Lady Cougars sixth consecutive trip to the class A final four.
