Youth production opens at Princess Nov. 5
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The annual Princess Theatre Youth Production is scheduled for Nov. 5, 6, 12, 13 and 14.

This year's presentation will be the Broadway musical, "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown." Tickets are on sale now for the event and theatre director Gene Thompson said it should be one of the best yet.

"We had such a tremendous interest from our youth this year that we had to double cast the show. This means we have two separate casts doing the production."

"We've separated the shows and casts into two groups," said Thompson. "One we're calling our JV group, which is more beginners, and then our varsity group, which are a bit more experienced with the stage. Our show director Mary Bess Wiggers is doing a fantastic job."

Wiggers, who also was costume designer for the summer production of "Oklahoma" makes her directorial debut with "Charlie Brown."

"I'm very excited about working with the youth", said Wiggers. "It's so important to get them involved with arts at a young age and we are so lucky to have a venue like The Princess in our area."

The Nov. 5 and 6 performances will showcase the JV group and the varsity group will be presented Nov. 12, 13 and 14. Show times for all performances are 6:30 pm. Ticket price is $5 for all ages and is reserved seating. The Princess Box Office is open Monday – Friday 9-5 p.m.
