Bland-Carlson engagement
 Jan and Sammy Bland of Crowville announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Jana Ruth Bland, to Scott Allen Carlson, son of Maria Carlson of Tallahasse, Fla., and Dale Carlson of Charleston, S.C.
The bride-elect is the maternal granddaughter of Nina Pearl Raley of Miami, Fla., and the late Julius Raley of Epps. She is the paternal granddaughter of Harrison Bland of McGehee, Ark., and Carolyn Windborn of Chandler, Ariz.
She is a graduate of Franklin Parish High School and is currently attending Louisiana Tech University in Ruston.
The prospective groom is the maternal grandson of the late Martha and Michael Kos of Las Vegas, Nev. He is the paternal grandson of Shue Mei Stein of Los Angeles, Calif., and the late Billie Carlson of Lawton, Okla.
He is a graduate of Fort Walton Beach High School and Louisiana Tech University. He is currently employed by Community Trust Bank as a help desk specialist at their operations center in Ruston.
The couple will exchange vows at three o'clock in the afternoon, Saturday, November 21, 2009, at Crowville Assembly of God.
