Franklin Academy Homecoming Franklin Academy will celebrate Homecoming Week Oct 12-16. Activities on Friday will culminate a week of special dress for students, including Destination Day, Favorite College Day, Camo Day, Red, White and Blue Day, and Dress Up Day.
On Friday, a special Homecoming pep rally will be held at 11:30 a.m. At that time, various spirit groups will perform, and the court, escorted by football players, will be presented. School will dismiss at 12:20 p.m. as all prepare for a full night of activities.
Friday night's activities will begin at 6:30 p.m., when the court enters the field via convertibles. Pregame entertainment will be provided by spirit groups. Additionally, senior football players Drew Guice, Lathan Taylor and Tyler Ezell will be recognized as they take the field for their last home game.
Kick-off of the homecoming game is set for 7:00 p.m. as the Cougars take on the Mt. Salus Eagles in a season rematch.
Half-time will highlight the presentation of the court, ending with the crowning of the 2009-2010 homecoming queen Savannah Shipman. FA principal Phil Jackson will perform that honor.
A post-game reception, hosted by Barbara Barton and her Student Council members, will be held in honor of this year's court. Everyone is invited to enjoy cake and light refreshments as we honor these students.
