Franklin Parish Homecoming
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Homecoming at Franklin Parish High School kicked off last Friday with the announcement of the queen and her court. The queen for 2009 homecoming is Megan Collins and maid of honor is Salita Johnson. The other two Senior Maids are Josie Collins and Raslin Hilliard. Other members of the court are: Freshman Maids - Kadijah Allen and Kelsey Kelly. Sophomore Maids YoSha Lain and Khadijah Neal. Junior Maids Queen Bibbs and Kristyn Newman. Crownbearers for the occasion will be Miss Olivia Faith Adams and Master Walker Karl Nelson.

The students are enjoying a week of various kinds of dress for the week. Monday the dress was Crazy Hat, Tie, and/or Socks Day. The students got ready for the up-coming hunting season by dressing in camoflauge on Tuesday, and Wednesday the theme of the 2009 homecoming "Rock the Boat", was carried through with students wearing Hawaiian apparel. Thursday the students will reverse the casual wear of the week by dressing up for the occasion, and on Friday students will celebrate the day by wearing their homecoming spirit t-shirt which was designed by one of the FPHS students, Samantha Colson.

There will be a bonfire Thursday night at the walking trail beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Come out and meet the Patriots and enjoy the band, the cheerleaders, and the Starlets.
Some may even want to roast marshmallows! There will be small fires for roasting and for cooking hot dogs. Friday beginning at 2:00 p.m. in Patriot Stadium, there will be a pep rally at which time the cheerleaders and Starlets will entertain and rev up our student body to beat the Wossman Wildcats. The court will be presented at the pep rally and accompanied by a football player chosen by the maid.

Friday night beginning at 6:00 p.m., we will have the queen and her court driven to their viewing platform for the game as the Patriots host the Wossman Wildcats. The queen will be crowned and her court presented at halftime.

Please come and enjoy the week with us and celebrate homecoming 2009 at Franklin Parish High School.
