Lindsay Erin Watts of Shreveport and William Barrett Carter of Crowville were united in marriage at six o'clock in the evening on April 11, 2009, at Creekwood Gardens in Simsboro. The couple exchanged vows beneath a beautiful wooden arch wrapped in ivy and accented with pink roses and white hydrangeas. Fresh pink roses and white iris arrangements were placed on the wedding platform with a set of unity candles on each end dividing the walk up the arch. Rev. Ron Charrier officiated the evening ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Cheryl Wycoff of Shreveport and Mac Watts of Keithville. She is the granddaughter of Kenneth and Margaret Wycoff of Bossier City and the late Mr. and Mrs. John A. Watts of Shreveport. The groom is the son of Sherry and Artie Carter of Crowville. He is the grandson of Shirley and Bobby Cox, Ernestine Carter, the late Elizabeth Cox of Crowville and the late George P. Carter of Winnsboro.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted down the aisle by her father, the bride wore a beautiful ivory mermaid style gown designed by Monique Luo. The gown featured a fitted bodice embellished with beaded lace and a scalloped sweetheart neckline. She carried a bouquet of pink roses wrapped in a handkerchief belonging to the groom's late grandmother, Elizabeth Cox.

Ashley Hood of Chicago, Ill., sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Hannah McDonald, Kathryn Calhoun, Jennifer Miller, Jolene Martin, sister-in-law, and Katherine Johnson. Kristen Martin, niece of the bride, served as junior bridesmaid. Flower girls were Avery Banks, niece of the groom, Keely Martin, niece of the bride and flower baby, Taylor Henry.

Brady Cox, cousin of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Clay Baum, Don Henry, David Kavalir, Jeremy Raley and Michael Haise. Chris Brister, Joel Kees, Wade Himel and Colby Ezell served as ushers. Carter Banks, nephew of the groom served as ring bearer. Darcy Kavalir, life-long best friend of the groom, read a verse of scripture honoring the couple.

Music was provided by pianist Steve Smith.

A reception for the couple followed the ceremony with music provided for dancing by Pike Productions of Ruston. The bride's cake was a three-tiered ivory confection adorned with pink roses. The groom's cake was a chocolate emblem of the Philadelphia Colts. The groom's cake was served by Marilyn Cox, aunt of the groom and Joni Graham, cousin of the groom.

After a honeymoon trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple is at home in Shreveport.

Pre-nuptial events
A rehearsal supper was hosted by the parents of the groom at the Country Cottage Inn in Arcadia. White votive candles and pink roses accented the tables. Guests enjoyed a dinner of grilled shrimp and steak while viewing a slide show of photos of the bride and groom. After the meal, members of the wedding party gave toasts to the couple.

A miscellaneous bridal party was held March 8, at the home of the Tara Banks, sister of the groom, in Baskin. Hostesses for the event were Tara Banks, Joni Graham, Christi Cox, Rebecca Davis, Shirley Love, Lawana Lightsey, Sharon Hewitt, Vicki DeMoss, Tanya Carney and Debbie Kavalir.
